SURGICAL INFO

Surgery can be a stressful experience for both you and your child. The UFC team is dedicated to providing you with the best experience possible. Here is information to help you during this time.
Scheduling surgery
Our surgical schedulers will assist you in finding a date for your child's surgery. All efforts will be made to accommodate your requests; however, please be aware that many factors go into when your child's surgery will be scheduled. These include the degree of urgency of your child's condition, the surgeon's schedule, and availability at the desired surgical center/hospital.
Surgical Deposits
The decision to proceed with a surgical procedure is often a difficult one. At Urology for Children, we respect your need for certainty regarding your decision to schedule a surgical procedure for your child. The administrative work involved in booking a procedure is extensive. Just as you would like to be certain of your choice, we also need to know that your decision is well thought out and secure.

We require a $250 surgical deposit to be paid at the time of scheduling the procedure.  If the amount of your deposit exceeds the actual amount that you owe (after all charges and payments have been applied to your account) you may be eligible for a refund.
The day before surgery
The surgical center will contact you the day before your child's scheduled surgery. This is to provide you with the arrival time and instructions for when your child must stop eating and drinking.
You can find more information at the website of the surgical center or hospital that you and your child will be visiting. The links can be found on the right of this page.
After surgery
Prior to leaving the surgical center or hospital, you will receive detailed information with all necessary care instructions. Your surgeon will inform you with when your child should return to the office for a follow-up visit.
